After the recent violence over the Waqf Act in Murshidabad district, West Bengal Governor C.V. Anand Bose today (April 19) visited the spot and met the victims. After meeting the victims, the governor promised to send a report on the law and order situation of the state government to the central government. Along with this, a team of the National Commission for Women (NCW) also visited the affected areas. During this, the team took stock of the incident and met the victims and listened to their problems. NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar was also present on the spot.

NCW chief called the situation serious

NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar described the situation at the site of the incident as serious and said, “The situation here has worsened a lot. All this is inhuman. People are upset. We will put forward our demands for their rights before the government.” This visit of NCW has raised serious questions about the situation in the state and has expressed hope for immediate action from the government.

Mithun Chakraborty demanded President’s rule

Amid the ongoing violence and instability in West Bengal, BJP leader and actor Mithun Chakraborty expressed deep concern over the situation in the state. He demanded the central government to impose President’s rule and deploy the army for two months during the elections. He says that unless there is an army on the ground, it will be difficult to conduct fair elections. Mithun Chakraborty also targeted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said, “If Didi wants, everything can stop in a day, but till now she has not said anything on this.”

Allegations of Sukanta Majumdar and Vishwa Hindu Parishad

BJP West Bengal president and Union minister Sukanta Majumdar made serious allegations against the Trinamool Congress. He said that the visit of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the governor can make it clear that the Trinamool Congress is working in connivance with those involved in the violence. Sukanta alleged that the Trinamool government is supporting those who commit violence to gain votes.

At the same time, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has announced to protest across the country against the violence in Murshidabad. This organization has also demanded imposition of President’s rule in West Bengal.

The situation in Murshidabad is now becoming normal

The situation in Murshidabad is now becoming normal. Shops are opening and people are coming out of their homes. A large number of police and central forces have been deployed, who are keeping an eye on every activity. The situation has now become much more peaceful than before and people are moving towards living a normal life.

Appeal of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee

On the Murshidabad violence, the state’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has appealed to the people to maintain peace. She appealed to the people not to get provoked and to avoid rumors. Mamata said, “We live once and die once, then why do riots happen? Every caste and religion has the right to protest, but do not take the law into your own hands. Some people are trying to mislead you, do not pay attention to them.” The Chief Minister also said that those who maintain peace despite provocation are actually winners.
