Ground Zero Review: The film ‘Ground Zero’ revived the sound of bullets resonating in the valleys of Pahalgam and exposed the dark shadow of terrorism. The film is based on the true story of an unknown brave officer Narendranath Dhar Dubey 22 years ago, who took the responsibility of protecting the country by putting his life at stake. Actor Emraan Hashmi played the role of Dubey in this film.
Daring mission and war against terrorism
The film ‘Ground Zero’ shows the story of BSF officer Narendranath Dhar Dubey (Emraan Hashmi), who was posted in Srinagar. In 2001, terrorist Ghazi Baba of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed started attacking Indian soldiers. Dubey and his colleagues were engaged in tracking down the terrorists, but Ghazi Baba and his terrorists were always one step ahead. Dubey’s personal tragedy, such as the murder of his close man Hussain, is also prominently shown in the film, which motivates him to take revenge.
Direction and Writing: Another true incident in the depth of the story
The film’s director Tejas Deoskar has presented the story very well. He has filmed the action scenes brilliantly, such as getting shot in the leg while chasing the target and the climax action scene of the film. Tejas’ direction has been successful in connecting the audience to the story. The writing of the film is also very good, in which the characters are shown not as heroes but as common people, who are true heroes in reality too. Writers Sanchit Gupta and Priyadarshi Srivastava also get credit for its success.
Emraan Hashmi and Casting: Performance and Character Blend
Emraan Hashmi has played the character of NND Dubey very well. He showed that the size or appearance of every soldier does not matter, but their patience and dedication is what makes them a true hero. Apart from this, Sai Tamhankar has played the character of Dubey’s wife Jayadevi, who presents her feelings towards the hero well. However, some castings like Mukesh Tiwari and Rahul Vohra did not make an impact in their characters, which could have further increased the quality of the film.
What to watch or not watch: ‘Ground Zero’ is a strong film
The first half of the film ‘Ground Zero’ is a bit slow, but its tremendous climax removes all your complaints. The purpose of the film is not just entertainment, but to show the struggle of a true and brave soldier. This film gives a strong message and Emraan Hashmi has stepped in a new direction. Although the film has a little flaw due to some casting, it is still a strong film, which must be watched.
