On February 20, 2025, Hamas returned the bodies of four Israeli hostages to Israel. The victims included Shiri Bibas and her two young sons, Ariel and Kfir, as well as 84-year-old Oded Lifshitz. The Red Cross facilitated the handover, which took place in Khan Younis, Gaza. This exchange is part of a larger ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which focuses on the exchange of hostages and prisoners. Under the terms of the deal, Hamas is expected to release six additional living hostages soon.
