India kicked off their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign with a commanding six-wicket win over Bangladesh in Dubai on February 20, 2025. Despite a shaky start at 35/5, Bangladesh recovered to post 228 runs, thanks to a resilient 100 from Towhid Hridoy and a valuable 68 from Jaker Ali. Mohammed Shami starred with the ball for India, claiming impressive figures of 5/53. In reply, India comfortably chased down the target in 46.3 overs, led by Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 101 and KL Rahul’s composed 41 not out. Captain Rohit Sharma also chipped in with 41 runs, surpassing the milestone of 11,000 ODI runs during his innings. India will face Pakistan in their next match in Dubai.
