Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday inaugurated the Made-in-India robotic surgery machine ‘Medi Jarvis’ at the State Cancer Institute in Guwahati. The machine will be used to help doctors in treating cancer, capable of performing complex surgeries with ease.
This unit is equipped with modern facilities
Chief Minister Sarma said, “I have inaugurated the Robotic Surgery Unit at the State Cancer Institute in Guwahati. This unit is equipped with all modern facilities and will help a lot in the treatment of cancer.” This new technology will give a new direction to cancer care in the region.
Doctors will get help in surgery
On Saturday, the Chief Minister had said on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), “We are set to dedicate a Made-in-India robotic surgery machine at the State Cancer Institute tomorrow, which can perform complex surgeries with ease.” He said that this machine will help doctors to work with utmost precision and ease during operations.
CM praised Assam Police
Apart from this, on Saturday, CM Sarma praised the Assam Police and minority community leaders for maintaining peace in the state amid possible protests over the Waqf Amendment Act. He said that despite intelligence inputs, the situation in the state remained completely peaceful on Friday and minor protests took place at only three places.
