On February 15, 2025, Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, and Pokhara Metropolitan Mayor, Dhanraj Acharya, were injured in a fire during the inauguration of the ‘Visit Pokhara Year 2025’ tourism fair. Paudel suffered burns to his hand and face, while Dhanraj sustained more serious injuries. After receiving initial treatment at local hospitals, both were airlifted to Kirtipur Hospital in Kathmandu for further care.
