Samsung recently launched new smartphones under its Galaxy A-series. Out of these, Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36 were sent to us for review. After using these smartphones for a few days, we have prepared our first impressions. Let’s know what is special in these two smartphones and whether you should buy them.

Design and look

Samsung Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36 are the best designed smartphones in their price segment. Both these smartphones have a glass back and both are slightly thinner than their previous versions. They have a vertical camera module at the rear. Galaxy A56 has a metal frame, which gives it a premium look. The volume control and power button are given on its right side. Galaxy A36 also has the same design language, but its frame is not made of metal.

Talking about the color options, Galaxy A56 is available in Awesome Graphite, Awesome Lightgray, Awesome Olive and Awesome Pink colors. Whereas, Galaxy A36 has Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Lavender and Awesome Lime color options. Here Galaxy A36 gets an edge over Galaxy A56 due to its glossy design.

Display and processor

Both smartphones have a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, which comes with an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Plus. The colors appear very vibrant on the screens of both phones.

As far as the processor is concerned, the Galaxy A56 has an Exynos 1580 chipset, while the Galaxy A36 uses a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. The Galaxy A56 has 8GB and 12GB of RAM with up to 256GB of storage options, while the Galaxy A36 has 6GB, 8GB and 12GB of RAM with up to 256GB of storage.

Camera and Battery

Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36 have a triple rear camera setup. They have a 50MP main sensor. Galaxy A56 has a 12MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 5MP micro sensor, while Galaxy A36 has an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 5MP micro lens. Both smartphones have a 12MP front camera, which is suitable for selfies and video calls.

In terms of battery, both the smartphones have a 5,000mAh battery and support 45W fast charging. On a single charge, this battery gives a full day’s backup. The camera quality could have been a little better for this price, but the battery performance is very good.

AI features in Galaxy A56

Samsung has talked about providing many AI features in the Galaxy A56. These include features like Object Eraser, Circle to Search, Edit Suggestion, Best Face, Rear Alound, My Filter and Auto Trim. Both smartphones run on OneUI 7.0, which is based on Android 15. The company has said that it will provide software and security updates for these new smartphones for 6 years.

Price of both phones

The starting price of Samsung Galaxy A56 5G in the global market is ₹ 41,999. At the same time, the price of Galaxy A36 5G is ₹ 32,999. Bank offers are also available on both these smartphones, which can give you more benefits.

Samsung Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36 are the best smartphones in their price segment. Both have great design and battery backup. However, the camera quality could have been a little better at this price. Galaxy A56 has some additional options with AI features and more RAM options, while Galaxy A36 is more attractive in terms of its design and color options. If you want a better display and battery backup, then both these smartphones can be a good option for you.

If the Galaxy A56 fits in your budget, you can choose it, but if you want a slightly more affordable option then the Galaxy A36 is also great.
