Microsoft co-founder and billionaire businessman Bill Gates has praised India’s progress in the technical field. He said that with the speed at which India is progressing, the country is sure to become a developed nation by 2047. This will benefit not only India but the whole world. He said in the Indian Express program Express Adda that if India maintains its 2047 development goal , it will also have a positive impact on the global level.
Regarding India’s economic growth rate, Bill Gates said that it is a great situation that now there is a debate whether the growth rate will be 5 percent or 10 percent . However, he said that he does not think it will be 10 percent, but it is also certain that it will not be less than 5 percent . He expressed confidence that India’s continuous economic progress will become an example for the world.
Investment in education and health will increase economic strength
Bill Gates said about the economic expansion in India that its biggest strength will be the investment made by the government in education and health . He stressed that investment by the government in the education and health sector will create new job opportunities and strengthen the country’s economy.
Gates said technology is expanding rapidly in India and this will lead to new innovations in many fields . He said India’s young population, technical skills and startup culture are taking the country to new heights globally.

Artificial Intelligence will not reduce jobs
Talking about Artificial Intelligence (AI), Bill Gates said that this technology is going to change the world. However, he also clearly said that there is no danger of losing jobs due to AI . He said that jobs are lost only when there is a shortage of resources. But with the help of AI, adequate food and health services will be available, that too without every person having to work hard like at present.
Gates said that using AI can bring about big changes in sectors like health and agriculture. He gave an example and said that in India AI can be used to solve local problems, such as giving accurate weather information to farmers or improving medical services.
India should not enter chip manufacturing without competition: Gates
Bill Gates praised India’s approach to adopting AI , especially the open-source foundation model. He said that AI models are being developed in India according to local languages and requirements, which will prove to be very helpful in the future.
However, he warned against giving excessive subsidies to the chip manufacturing industry. Gates said that India should enter this field only when it is able to compete globally . He said that excessive subsidy will not benefit the industry, rather it should focus on its competitive ability.
