The Congress party claimed that Preity Zinta’s bank loan of Rs 18 crore was waived, which benefited the Bharatiya Janata Party. In fact, on Monday 24 February, Kerala Congress tweeted that Preity Zinta handed over her social media accounts to the BJP and in return her loan of Rs 18 crore was waived. Congress also claimed that the bank collapsed last week, due to which the depositors took to the streets.

Preity Zinta gave a befitting reply
Reacting to this news, Preity Zinta released her statement on social media. She clarified that her bank loan has not been waived off and she had paid the entire dues.
She wrote, “No, I operate my social media account myself and those who are spreading fake news should be ashamed! I am surprised how a political party or its representatives are using my name and pictures to spread false news and baseless rumors.”

She further wrote, “For the record, let me make it clear that this loan was taken and it has been repaid in full. It has been more than 10 years since this incident. Hope this correct information will prove useful to you, so that there is no such misunderstanding in future.”
