Popular TV actress Chahat Khanna, who rose to fame with serials like ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’ and ‘Qubool Hai’, recently revealed in an interview about the horrific incident of molestation that happened to her. The actress said that this incident happened 10-11 years ago, when she was travelling in a car with her sister.
Bike riders harassed on the road
Narrating her ordeal, Chahat Khanna said that she was travelling in a car with her two sisters when she noticed two bikers following them and passing lewd comments. The car windows were open at the time, and Chahat heard them talking dirty in their local language. Chahat said, “Then they started walking with us, repeatedly cutting us off. I said, ‘Yaar this is too much,’ and I stopped the car in front of their bike. Then I got out and beat them both up!”
Chahat’s statement: “That fight was like WWE”
Chahat further said, “They also fought with me, and no one came to my help. All this happened 10-11 years ago, and the fight was really like WWE. I beat both of them a lot, I punched one of them and broke his tooth.” This incident became a horrific experience for Chahat, which she remembers even today.
An elderly person sexually abused me as a child
During the interview, Chahat Khanna also mentioned a disturbing incident from her childhood. She told that an elderly person from her community sexually abused her in childhood. Chahat said, “When I was young, there was an uncle in our community, who was known as a kind and loving Bengali uncle. He used to make me sit on his lap and give me chocolates. At that time I did not think much about it.”
Chahat also said that she realised only two years ago that the same uncle used to do the same thing with her. “I heard from my childhood friend that she had filed a case of sexual harassment against the same uncle. Only then did I realise that he used to do the same thing with me, but I was young then and could not understand.”
Chahat Khanna’s career
Chahatt Khanna started her TV career with ‘Hero: Bhakti Hi Shakti Hai’ and also worked in popular shows like ‘Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan’, ‘Kaajal’, and ‘Qubool Hai’. She got huge recognition for her role as Ayesha Sharma Kapoor in ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’, which made her a household name. Chahatt also worked in Bollywood with films like ‘Thank You’, ‘7½ Phere: More Than a Wedding’, ‘Prasthanam‘, and will be seen in the film ‘Yatri’ in 2023.
