On 25th April, the country’s most loved singer Arijit Singh is celebrating his birthday. Today, his name is on the lips of every child and the sweetness of his voice has settled in every heart. But reaching this stage was not at all easy for him. He has seen many ups and downs to establish himself in the world of music. Today, Arijit’s voice has become a part of every film, but once he had to hear many no’s even for his first song.
Started career with reality shows
Arijit Singh started his career at the age of just 18 with the reality show ‘Fame Gurukul’. However, he could not win this show and stopped at the sixth position. At that time, the show was being judged by music legends like Javed Akhtar, Shankar Mahadevan and Kak. After this, he participated in another show ’10 ke 10 le gaye dil’ in which there was a competition between the contestants of Fame Gurukul and Indian Idol. After winning this show, Arijit built his own music studio with the prize money of Rs 10 lakh. However, this did not give him the recognition he was looking for.

When Arijit’s song was rejected
Due to his hard work and dedication, Arijit Singh came to the notice of famous filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and he got a chance to sing in Ranbir Kapoor’s film ‘Saawariya’. He sang a romantic song named ‘Yun Shabnami’ but unfortunately that song was removed from the film and never released. After this, Ramesh Taurani signed him for a music album but that project also never came out. At that time, this was a big setback for Arijit but he did not give up and continued his struggle.
‘Tum Hi Ho’ changed his fate
Arijit Singh made a new beginning by shifting to Mumbai in the year 2006 and from here his fate took a turn. He got a chance to sing the song ‘Phir Mohabbat’ for ‘Murder 2’ which was liked by the people. But he got real recognition from the superhit song ‘Tum Hi Ho’ from the 2013 film ‘Aashiqui 2’. This song made him a star overnight. After this, he gave many great songs like ‘Phir Bhi Tumko Chahunga’, ‘Pal’, ‘Pachtaoge’, ‘Khairat’, ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ and ‘Soch Na Sake’. Today Arijit Singh’s name is counted among the most successful and favorite singers of the industry. The magic in his voice touches every heart and makes one feel every pain.
